Katten lijden in stilte

This is a fabulous cat house, suitable for indoor or outdoor use. The size is perfect for one (or maybe two) cats to snuggle in and stay warm. Cats like an enclosed space and I feel that a larger size would be too big for just one cat. It is easy to assemble taking just a few minutes to put together. It is well designed with key elements, including thick insulated walls, a pitched roof (for water runoff), a removable roof (zippered on), sturdy support bars, raised legs (to keep it off the cold ground), a detachable clear wind flap. We had a feral cat in our neighborhood last winter. I haven’t seen them for a few months, but I intend to move this outdoors when it gets cold to give them a way to keep warm. Excellent!
Five stars! The kitty hole comes with a flap that can be Velcroed on. I realized this AFTER assembly. The assembly was very easy. The base of the home is a pop up box style and you insert the carpeted base to hold the structure. The roof gets zippered on. You had a few pvc poles to the bottom to create your feet and you can end with the optional door flap.
I love that this has insulation material inside and that the top zips onto the frame. The carpeted part is pretty much just material on a very thin piece of cardboard but I mean, you can always add an old pillow for cushion if needed. The material is not very thick but it is lightweight and there’s a clear flap that will help keep the wind out. It also has 2 stakes so you can secure it to the ground if needed. I plan to use this for stray cats in my neighborhood that always end up on my porch so this will be stationed there. I’m not confident on how well it would withstand direct exposure to the elements like rain/snow but it works for what I need it for. It’s good quality for the price compared to others I’ve seen.
This little cat house seems great, now let’s see if it actually gets used. You know how cats are: buy them something adorable and they sleep in the box it came in instead. Assembly was surprisingly easy, though I did wrestle with the roof a bit. It zips on, which is clever, but also slightly awkward to line up just right. Once it’s together, though, it feels sturdy and better made than I expected for the price. The inside is lined with a material that reminds me of a lunch box, shiny, smooth, and just enough to help keep the cold out. It’s not heavily insulated, but it should offer decent protection, especially with the clear flap door keeping out drafts. Overall, I’m impressed so far. Now the only question is whether my cat decides it’s his new favorite nap spot… or just another outdoor decoration. P.S. Updates pending feline approval. If he actually uses it, I might throw a housewarming party, with catnip instead of wine.
This is great. It's well constructed with quality materials. It does require some assembly which is fairly easy. Probably the most challenging part was zipping the roof onto the body of the house but once you get it lined up it's not too bad. It has a piece of plastic that attaches with velcro for a windbreak for the door that you can leave on or take off. The size is good for one cat or maybe two smaller cats. It does appear that it will keep your cat warm in cold weather based on what it's made from and the way it will hold your cat's body heat. It reminds me of the materials of an insulated bag that you would carry food in to keep it warm. I like that it's elevated to keep your cat off of the ground when it gets cold. It does have the slightly chemical smell of plastic but I believe this will fade after being outside for a while. This is very handy and well worth the price being charged.
